Sweetie, darlings! Originating from a sketch in Jennifer Saunders' show with comedy partner Dawn French, Ab Fab as it's affectionately known, first came to BBC TV in 1992, charting the shameless, hedonistic misadventures of PR guru Edina Monsoon (Saunders), her long-suffering teenage daughter Saffron (Julia Sawalha), her best friend and sponging alcoholic Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley of New Avengers, Sapphire and Steel fame), ditzy PA Bubble (Jane Horrocks of Little Voice fame) and a whole other cocktail of crazy characters who inhibited a slightly grotesque world that made a blatant parody of the fashion/PR industry.
It won a BAFTA for Best TV Comedy in 1993, with it's fifth and final series screened in 2003. It also attracted many guest stars over the years, from Zandra Rhodes and Emma 'Baby Spice' Bunton to Elton John and Richard E Grant via Whoopi Goldberg and Erin O'Connor.
