Alpine Soft Drinks

The Alpine Soft Drinks man used to come round in a sort of converted milk float every week (Wednesday or Thursday), and sell these street by street back in the mid seventies. Alpine Soft Drinks were closer to Corona than Cresta, but they came in the most vivid colours and left you hyper all evening. Alpine Soft Drinks came in the usual flavours - Orangeade, Limeade, Lemonade, Cola, Cherryade and of course Dandelion and Burdock. As someone who worked for them for a short time I can remember one of the top sellers was American Cream Soda.

Yes I Agree, I loved Alpines pineapple crush! Also the dandelion & Burdock, Appleade & limeade was Very Good! Must of liked the strawberryade too! Wish Alpine were still going! Aw! Good 70's childhood memories of the Alpine truck deliveries! Sadly some takeovers aren't successful or they loose the products or change them & they are not the same or as good! Alpine pop was my favourite in the 70's! That and Top Deck of course!

Hi I am searching for somebody who worked in the Birtley Area but served from Sunderland depot. He was from Sunderland. He went by the name of Rob or Bob occasionally Robert. He could be in his early 50s now. He worked in the late 90s I'm not sure if it was earlier then that. He could be my dad and I am on a mission to find him. My 1st job after leaving school was at the Cardiff depot in 82. Many fond memories of the days and friends at the time. Passed my test through the job as 10 lessons and 1 test was paid for. The depot building has just been recently demolished. Would be great if anyone from that time era commented.
