American Tan tights came in a clear polythene packet and they were made by Pretty Polly. They were seamless and worked out quite cheap for everyday wear. They were essential for pasty British types like myself who yearned after the glamorous tans of girls off the telly! Never mind the fact that your legs were then a completely different shade to your face.

    these were an essential part of the Girl Guide uniform at one point ( late 70's) when on parade. Well, it was deemed essential in the west coast of Scotland at least !

    i remember we had to wear these to work at the local 'gateway' supermarket!! lovely....

    I remember for a school disco once I wore American Tan 'pop sox' with khaki green cord peddle pushers, a ribbed polo neck jumper and a tartan cap. Why didn't my mum stop me?!!
