Appeal Orange Juice

Does anyone remember Appeal orange juice? It was powdered orange juice that you just added water to and one sachet made a jug full. It just reminds me of family camping holidays and being young. There was also another make and I think it was called Squeeze but not sure. I think Birds may have made Appeal. Does anyone remember either of these products and if so do they still exist?

no sweeteners, plenty of sugar! why is sugar the bad guy now, its hard to get drinks (worth having) without 'no added sugar' rubbish. at least sugar is natural and has nutrition value. I don't accept the major cola brands. currently a very close match is the american Tang orange powder (others flavours available, got mine off ebay) made by Kraft foods. excellent, and as close to apeel as you could want. START THE SWEETENER BACKLASH NOW! its going on in the USA.

Hi there The other power orange juice i vaguely remember is called Rise & Shine by Kellogs. Sadly that is also unavailable. If you want something very similar you can buy powdered orange juice called Tang by Kraft from Ebay. It is the USA version of Birds Appeal. Hope that is some help to you. Shauny x x

It made a good alternative to sherbet as well. Our jars must have aquired a whole host of germs due to unwashed fingers being poked in and licked on a regular basis. Yuk !

Where can I find a picture of Apeel? My sister and I used to mix it with the smallest amount of water when we were kids and it made the most incredible syrupy sherbert... really bad for you i'm sure but tasted great. I know she'd get a kick out of it if I could find an image. Can anyone help me out?

The advert ended up with a woman's voice sayin 'tastes just like freshly squeezed oranges!' Which it didn't really, but it was very exciting at the time, lol.

I was just talking to my husband about this the other day. He doesnt remember it, but i always used to take some to school in a plastic sandwich bag to mix with my water at lunchtime, one of my mum`s many ways of getting me to drink as i had a tendency to dehydrate as a child. I think the gatorade powder you can buy tastes just the same, a real blast from the past lol.

I only remembered this the other day...and for reasona not even known to myself I can STILL remember the jingle....it went 'Wake up your taste, wake up your mind, wake up your body and you will find, it's always a beautiful morning....BIRDS APPEAL!!!' Oh blimey! The power of advertising, eh? Yes it did taste of powder!

Yes, it was indeed spelled 'Apeel' - I didn't think much of it, or the similar product, Kellogg's Rise and Shine. Reminds me of the taste of those ghastly powdered Maxpax vending machine drinks we had at school!
