Banana Creamy Ice Lolly

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Banana Creamy Ice Lollies were made by Midland Counties Dairies which were later taken over by Lyon's Maid. They were dreamy Banana Milky Ice lollies that tasted like the banana version of Angel Delight, only frozen! I wish you could still get them now!

Yes I distinctly remember buying these from the corner shop on my way home from school in the 1960s! They did taste great and I enjoyed the creamy texture and soft banana flavour. I think they were 2d or 3d (in 'old' money ! I lived in Lincoln so Midland counies daries was fairly local to us.

Earlier on it was more a banana milk lolly, then later (maybe when it was taken over) it became thicker and more like an icecream block on a stick. Think they also had a strawberry version of the icecream. I was upset when it changed into the icecream but devastated when it disappeared altogether.

Adored those creamy lollies both banana and strawberry, my godmother used to sell them in her shop but I never got a free one. :(
