The game was endorsed by BP, and centered around the Drilling of the North Sea for Oil. Players could play as one of four companies, based in a Country/city where the oil company had a base - BP in Hull, Chevron in Rotterdam, Mobil in Dieppe or Amoco in Bergen. Players had to build and float platforms to a specific location and lay pipelines to bring the offshore oil back to the player's home company. The first player to make 120,000,000 petro-dollars is the winner. There were risks, such as storms, blow-outs or gas strikes that would reduce production on, or destroy, an oil platform. It was a fairly slow paced game and not one for small children, but the rules were fairly simply and easy to follow. Players recieved a payout each turn if a rig was still producing oil.
