Burton's Fish 'n' Chips

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Burton's Fish 'n' Chips were a sort of a biscuity, crackery, crisp. They came in a bag with newspaper print on it. They crisps themselves were in the shape of a fish or a chip. They never quite had enough flavour on them.

Yep - from the vending machine at the baths after swimming. Standard post-swim treat. Just tasted like bland baked cracker with a thin veneer of salt and vinegar to be fair !

What is it with these and swimming pool vending machines? That's my memory of them too. Flavour was too strong and biscuit was dry but I kind of liked the way the packet was like a newspaper. In those days, fish n chips actually did come in newspaper, until the health and safety nannies got involved.

I used to eat these by the ton. I don't have any kids, but if I did I would be tempted to exchange said kid for a bag of these

Good Lord, I'd quite forgotten these! Thanks for the memory! I loved them- my Mum didn't mind getting them for me, as they were biscuits and not crisps, so not deemed to be as bad for my health.
