I worked in Charing Cross CJ's before the unit opened and had many great times with the lads n lasses there. Being 23, I was older than most of the crew, but thankfully had a brilliant shift manager - Billy, and an excellent unit manager, Ian Nicholson. In retrospect, one of the best jobs I ever had. I started as a crew member and was promoted to supervisor after a few months, mainly because I was consistent in my attendance and quite competent. My best mate there, Andy Ogsten, rose through the ranks of CJ's and became station catering manager at King's Cross. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago. I miss the happy go lucky workers there, but can confidently say that we were never rude or unhelpful to customers, and our burgers were lovely compared to modern cardboard stuff. Ah, happy days!
