He may be playing the funny guy now (Spin City, Two and a Half Men) - but Charlie Sheen started as the cool kid on the block. From a scene-stealing cameo as the delinquent who taught Ferris Bueller's sister to chill out, to starring roles in such 80s clasics as Platoon and Wall Street, Charlie always seemed like the one Sheen who'd manage to come out of the shadow of his father, the still-magnificent Martin Sheen.
A well-documented fall from grace seemed destined to put paid to that ambition, but I can't be the only one out there secretly pleased he's managed to reinvent himself.
