Adverts ADVERTS

Chef's Square Shape Soup

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

The Chef's Square Shape Soup advert had a tongue twister jingle. Chef's Square Shape Soup was boxed soup in powder form which of course, was added to water. It was advertised with the jingle - "Chef's square shaped soups, shows how a good soup should be" Any one remember this ad?

Our family only used FosterClarks tomato soup squares to make the dish called Joe Grey made with bacon rashers, sliced onions sliced potatoes water and of course the soup square.Plenty of bread to dunk with. Haven't been obtainable for 20 odd years tried substitutes but nothing matches Foster Clarks. David Edwards

My Mum and my Nan used to use the oxtail and tomato square soups to flavour the gravy when they made their stew and dumplings. It reminds me of Saturday lunchtime watching Football Focus on Grandstand and On The Ball on World Of Sport!! For me, stew has never smelt or tasted the same since they stopped making these.

Had forgotten all about this stuff. I used to take a flask of the chicken noodle soup to school. I remember clearly the peculiar texture of the pellets of 'chicken'.

I remember the soup, but not the advert. I used to only eat this soup, and it was chicken noodle flavour that I was addicted to. I was beginning to think I had made this product up, as I couldn't find anyone else who remembers it.
