"Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep" is a song recorded in early 1971 and it became an instant phenomenon when it was recorded by Scottish band Middle of the Road. It got to number 1 in the UK and is one of the fewer than thirty singles to have sold 10 million copies - or more - worldwide!
My Dad still sings it. The person who wrote it - Lally Stott says he thought it was trite, but in the end he had to record it because it was such a funny catchy tune.
