This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

I've fond memories of selection boxes at christmas. I`d start eating my favourites, working out which would be left on the mantlepiece, until someone finally threw it out months later. Usually Turkish Delight or Texan bars were left at the end.

    ps.also big boxes of chocolates with a ribbon round them with little paper cups holding each chocolate,tasted better than the sickly truffle centres you get today.

    You used to get chocolate bars in them that you couldn't buy singly loved chocolate sandwich bar and there was always a fudge in them.

    yes,weekend was not a selection box,but an assortment of sweets ,chocolates,jellies presented like a box of chocolates.

    Does anyone remember some thing called the Weekend? It was a selection box of assorted chocolates and sweets and jellies, popular in the 1970s.

    The only place you could find a MOOSE bar was in the selection box.

    I used to love the Selection stockings better. Just a cardboard stocking shape with Mars Bar,Marathon,Topic,Opal Fruits and something else!! All covered with a coloured net. Mars bar was a luxury when i was little so i knew it was Christmas when i had one.

    I didn't like Turkish Delight as a kid but strangely now I do. Texan Bars, you could lose fillings and even teeth chewing those things!
