Following a turbulent childhood, Demi Moore became a pin-up girl aged 16 but by 19 had got her first role in TV.

She got a big break in the film St Elmos Fire but was fired by director Joel Schumacher for turning up on set high on drugs. After withdrawal treatment she gave up the drugs and returned to work.

Demi Moore appeared in such films as Ghost (1990), Indecent Proposal (1993) and Disclosure (1994) and was once engaged to Emilio Estevez

    I hadn't even heard of her before she appeared nude and hugely pregnant on the cover of 'Vanity Fair' in the April of '91. I think that's what she'll mainly be remembered for in future decades, breaking the taboo about how pregnant women were depicted in the media.
