Don't Tip The Waiter!

Don't Tip The Waiter! was a game featuring a cardboard waiter about 9" high holding a tray above his head. He balanced on a pivot hinge and you had to take turns to carefully load his tray with little disks of pretend plates of food until the weight made him tip up and spill all the food. Don't Tip The Waiter was a game of nerves and a steady hand! The tag line from the TV add was "Please-ah don tip-ah the wait-ah!"

Another one of the many variants on the 'Buckaroo' theme- only ever saw it advertised on TV once, though remember it was around a lot in the shops. My mum had a young lady doctor friend back in '79 who was on maternity leave (she was a single mum, very unusual among the professional classes in those days)- she and her housemate used to while away the Summer evenings playing this game endlessly in their back garden in Brixton!

Don't Tip The Waiter! was a balancing game where you each took it in turn to draw a card to determine how many plastic discs you put on the waiter's tray before he toppled over. Obviously you lost if you toppled him over.

Since we were three girls,we had lots of games and toys.Don't tip the waiter was actually fun.You had to put a different food on the waiters tray without it tipping over.It was so easy anyone could play.
