Drowsy Baby Doll

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Drowsy Baby Doll was a pull string talking baby doll with half shut painted eyes. Drowsy Baby Doll had blonde hair with a pink bow. She also had a pink and white polka dot soft body.

My best friend had a Drowsy Doll in the 1970s and I just loved her. She was so pretty in her pink polka dot pjs and said the cutest things when you pulled her string. I asked for a Drowsy for Christmas but I never got one. I got a horrible blue talking Tom and Jerry instead which used to scare me!!

Drowsy was my first ever talking doll, I had her when I was tiny. She had a very sweet little voice which would say bedtime things. In the days of hard plastic baby dolls, Drowsy felt like a real baby with her soft body and floppy legs. Unfortunately mine met the fate of most pull cord talkers and fell silent, but I kept her for a long time afterwards, just for bedtime cuddles.

I bought my daughter a Drowsy in 1983. Her string broke and we couldn't fix her tho she's still with us. Amazingly, we found them again in Asda in 2005. Couldn't resist.

This was my favourite doll, I probably got it for Christmas in 1962 ish. You pulled the string at the back and she said "I;m so Tired"
