American Singer born in 1945, best known for her hit single "Band of Gold" released in 1970, it reached no. 1 in the UK hit singles charts.

Throughout her career, Freda has been involved in Theatre & TV. She appeared in Nutty Professor II: The Klumps in 2000.

On April 22, 2009 Freda appeared on American Idol and sang Band of Gold.
