Funny Faces

Funny Faces were thick and sickly ice cream on a stick shaped as a face. There were a few different faces to try but you couldn't see what you got until you removed the paper wrapper. Funny Faces came in strawberry or vanilla, as I remember. Funny Faces were an early forerunner of Funny Feet ices which were pretty much the same thing, but for people who preferred eating feet I suppose.

My father was the inventor of these ice creams while he worked for Walls in the 1960's and I was effectively the tester for the range

I think we must be related as apparently Mervyn was my great uncle! I need to check with my mother for definite details. Interesting..

Apparently my hubby was a wee boy with a fishing rod in the funny faces tv advert all those years ago. His dad directed the ad. All I would eat as a kid was ice-cream. I think it must have been fate! (Actually I preferred a 'heart' ice-cream but don't tell him).

OMG, yes, I remember the Funny Feet Ice Creams on a stick, they were nice, I used to like eatin the toes first and then the foot, It was kinda weird that they made an ice cream foot,, but I guess we were more simple minded in those days. I would give anythin to have those days back again though, best time of my life.
