This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

To be honest, i don't really remember this, but my mum said that when I was a little girl I owned a gonk. I wouldn't leave home without it, and my mum had to prise it from my arms when I was asleep to wash it.

    I had at one time five different gonks. They were lovely things which usually stood on a felt, feet-shaped flat base then rose through a cylindrical body to a domed or flat top. Their faces were on their fronts, they had no heads, some had no arms either. Gonks usually had long, shaggy fur that got easily tangled but was lovely and fluffily soft once it was combed or brushed. I've seen gonks as large as eighteen inches high and as small as six inches. The ones I had weren't exactly cuddly but were lovely to play with, groom and stroke.

    i had several gonks in the late '60's all bright coloured long furry sort of haired ball like creatures you could shape their fur/hair into various shapes !
