Lolly Gobble Choc Bomb

Lolly Gobble Choc Bomb was an ice lolly - strawberry ice cream, dipped in chocolate, covered in Hundreds & Thousands, with chocolate at the centre.

I think I only ever had one, for some reason my mum always discouraged me from buying them. But what a wonderful name!

I found details about it on the Lyons Maid website, which has a list of the various products it has sold. Lolly-nostalgia heaven!

Wow, just found this site, suddenly I'm not quite such an old sod. Yes, the lolly gobbles(...) were great, but the Lord Toffinghams were the nobility of the lolly world. That toffee/caramel centre, oh ggggggggg...

Just finished scoffing a Nobbly Bobbly in the sunshine (on hols at home). You can get them in Waitrose. My all time favourite lolly was the LGCB; Nobbly Bobbly is great but the chocolate middle is soft and I miss the proper little bar that you had left on the stick. Also it's made by Nestle - maybe the recipe was sold to the French??!!! Do you think there are enough of us to do a petition to Lyons Maid (think they're run by R&R now...)?

Yes, its now called a Nobbly Bobbly, I love these I had one the other day when I was down at Brighton, I couldnt believe they still sold these after all these years, I told my children that I used to eat them years ago, I was sooooo surprised that they were still available, I had to have one and I did.

I have just been telling my 10 year old daughter and 13 year old son about the wonders of the Lolly Gobble Choc Bomb. It just came back into my mind cos she was eating a Fab - not a patch as we all know. My husband had the gall to claim this was a 'false memory' but clearly he had one of those deprived suburban childhoods of the materially-wealthy but experience-poor kind. I can taste the chocolate centre as I write now and just wish my kids could have the pleasure I had (often!). Mossy from Southport

Without doubt the best ice lolly ever brought out as well as Lord Toffingham and Brick on a stick - wonderful childhood memories.

nobbly bobbly now but they are useless. The chocolate in the middle tests like cheap easter egg chocolate whereas the original was like decent chocolate. I saw them in the shops got excited and was very disappointed. My husband thinks I am mad!
