Magic Nursery Babies

When I was very young, I saw this commercial for a Magic Nursery Baby. It showed this little girl taking the doll's dress off, putting it in a bowl of water, swirling it around and then she said, "Love is Magic" and out of the bowl came this plastic bag, with a change of clothes, a diaper, and a birth certificate. It showed the little girl kissing the heart on the cheek of the doll, and a star appeared. Then the little girl smiled and said, "I'm such a happy Magic Nursery Mommy!".

I thought Magic Nursery Babies were the coolest thing when their dress dissolved in water. So, for Christmas that year I got one, and I didn't even open any other presents, I went straight for the kitchen so I could say those magic words! I kissed the heart so much that eventually the heart stopped appearing and the star stayed there. To this day, my Magic Nursery Baby is my favorite toy of all time.

One in every 36 Magic Nursery Babies were one of two twins, so, if you dissolved your diaper in water and found a message saying it was a twin you could send off to receive the other one.

I used to love magic nursery dolls. After getting 2 girl dolls, I wanted a boy soooo bad. At Christmas time my mom actually ended up calling the manufacturer and getting the serial number of the boy dolls and searching toys r us. I got my boy for Christmas and named him Mikey. Its the only one I still have today.

I received my Magic Nursery Baby when I was 4. I remember the day like it was yesterday. My long time babysitter gave it to me for Christmas. I ran to bathroom and found out it was a girl, I didn't name her I don't think. I have always called her magic baby. I still have her, and she has her own spot on the couch. My little cousin cut her hair off, she has some left. The heart on the cheek has worn off and is now replaced by nail polish, also her lips. I still love her and will never give her away. I hope someday my little girl can play with her. My magic nursery baby had been my favorite and oldest toy to this day. I too wish they would still sell them.

I got my first magic nursey doll on christmas one year. I built up quite the collection after that. I had one of the babies (the one pictures on the left at the top of the screen), the toddler with the teeth and one with the hair that grew. I also even got a doll that said she was a twin. I was so excited the day it came in the mail. I know I still have all of them somewhere in my mom's house. I find myself sitting here trying to remember all of their names. I would love to get one for my daughter now. I think she would really like them. Does anyone know where I can get one still in the box (so she can expirence the best part of finding out if it's a girl or boy)?

I remember getting my first magic nurdery doll and disolving the paper coat thing in the bathroom sink, it was a girl I named her Sarah, not long after that I got another one which was also a girl I named her Nicole. Then I got a magic nursery pet and then a toddler magic nurdery doll, that had a tab you pulled on her head to maker her teeth grow. I still have all of them, my favourite was Sarah. I also remember getting a pink Magic Nursery bunny suit seperately. Does anone else remember what items you could buy seperately???

I got one for Christmas the year they came out. I named her Karen, and my friend got one that she named Kara. We both collected them for a while. I loved all of them, but Karen was always the most special. I used to take her everywhere with me. I even took her on my bike. One day she fell off and got this big black scrape on the back of her head that I couldn't get off. The second one I got was Gregory, who had a twin that they mailed to me, who I named Michelle. They looked exactly alike, except one was a boy with short hair, and one was a girl with long hair.

My sister and I each had 2. We had 3 "babies" and one "premie" (the dolls with eyes that open and clsoe with hot/cold water which eventually stop opening over time just like their hearts eventually fade). One of my dolls is the one on the right in the picture above (with the little black and white outfit and strawberry blond hair!). All of our friends had them (together we had all the different dolls- toddlers, fuss n' giggle triplets, bundle babies) and we used to have "Magic Nursery Parties" where we'd all get together with our dolls. Over time I remember little bits of their hairs would fall out and most of our dolls have lost the outer circle or two of their hair. My father had nicknames for all of our dolls such as "mohawk baby" and "baldy" (for the premie). One of my dolls head's fell of because "she" was mad at my sister and I was hitting her with the doll (holding the doll by her legs, using the head to do the hitting) and the head fell off! I was older by now (10ish?) and couldn't decide whether I was devasted to have a headless doll or thought it was hilarious so I was crying and laughing at the same time so hard I couldn't explain to my mom what happened. She was able to somewhat repair her by taking thread and sewing the head back on, but you can still see the bottom of her neck... These were by far our favorite dolls.

I loved my Magic Nursery dolls. I was lucky enough to get twin dolls! I remember it was for my birthday when I was about 4. I dropped the clothes in water to find out if it was a boy or girl and it was twins! I had to mail away for the second one and I was so excited when it finally came.

i used to have a magic nursery doll too, i had gotten it for christmas when i was younger. my mom had told me i would have to wait to find out what it was till the next day cause it was late, and so my sister took the little thing it came with and ripped it open which spoiled the surprise part for me. it was a boy and i named it junior one time my sister actually shaved its lil spot off hair off which left him with a buzzed mohawk kind of look. i cant find him anywhere id love to have it back. but its ok.
