Marine Boy was an animated series from the late 1960s. It was produced in Japan and dubbed to English. Marine Boy worked for Ocean Patrol whose job it is to keep the world's oceans safe. Together with Piper and Bolton, Marine Boy crewed the patrol boat P1.

Marine Boy was able to swim really fast thanks to his propellor powered boots and he could stay under water for long periods by swallowing "oxygum". He was helped out in his adventures by a white dolphin called Splasher and a mermaid called Neptina. Neptina wore a huge pearl with special powers on a necklace.

One other regular character was a little boy called 'Cli Cli', he always tried to help Marine Boy but usually ended up causing more trouble.

    I remember a female saboteur disguised as Marine Boy, getting blown up at the end after being initially stunned by his boomerang, but can't remember what the episode was called.

    I remember when Marine Boy tackled a female impostor who was destroying ships., whilst dressed as him.He initially stunned her with his boomerang, think she got killed at the end in an explosion.

      Yeah, she was very attractive....for a cartoon, she was pretty good at dodging his boomerang initially, remember Her getting blown up at the end.

    I know Marine Boy was knocked unconscious in almost every episode by the bad guys but was Marine Boy ever knocked out by a girl!!

    Remember racing home from school to see this when I was a kid and the oxygum which allowed him to swim underwater. I am sure I can remember an episode where Marine Boy was tackling a sea monster which gave him a prolonged electric shock, causing Marine Boy to faint and fall to the sea bed unconscious! Can anyone remember this and how he escaped.

    Oh yes I remember. I use to run home from school to catch it on TV. I was a well thought concept. Great characters and craft. Although I enjoyed all Japanese anime of the 1960's. Marine Boy was my favourite from the lot. I bought the whole 3 seasons on DVD. Now I am reliving it all again. Having seen it after 38 years.     Remember it well- I think that Marine Boy's dad was a leading scientist for Ocean Patrol, which is why the lad came to work as one of their agents. Neptina was fairly useless as an assistant- most of her role appeared to be calling "Oh do be careful, Marine Boy!" whenever her two-legged fiend set off on a particularly risky mission. That necklace was useful, though....

    This was a real favourite when I was a kid, too. See there was some clips on youtube - brilliant. One of the original cartoons out of Japan, for -runner for the likes of Pokemon (but they're not a patch on this classic show. Sorry Pokemon fans but....)
