Toys TOYS

Mighty Max

Mighty Max was a toy line released by Mattel (I think they were based on a UK toy line) that was based after a cartoon series of the same name.

Max, the protagonist, receives a cap and is transported to another world when he puts it on. His guides are Virgil, a talking chicken, and Norman, a hulking warrior/bouncer.

The toys featured miniature scary-looking monster heads that would open up into minature playsets with mini figures of Max and friends and various enemies.

Mighty Max was all the rage when i was in second grade. My first one was the skull lab but i also had The swamp one and one that was like an industrial plant as well as five others. i always really wanted the giant castle set but i never got it for christmas or birthdays. My sister had several Polly Pocket sets which were the girl version and we would put max in the beauty parlour and polly in the snake pit or the evil lab. I wish i hadn't given those things away. i kept the snake pit one cause it was my favorite and i still have it. it looks a coiled snake and it opens up to become an Egyptian tomb with loads of snakes and a mummy that has it's own sarcophagus.

mighty max's were cool, they were the girl versions of polly pocket, i remember having a big skull shaped one that had big eye balls popping out, you had a tiny max doll, (like the pollys) and places to put him in
