Floppy fringed, linen suited group of guys who had a huge hit in the 80s with "Best Years Of Our Lives" - the song recently had a bit of a revival in Shrek!

    They had a kind of Tirjuana sound, with lots of backing brass- their trumpeter was a bald guy with a moustache, who sometimes appeared on Top Of The Pops dressed up as an old-style pilot in flying suit and helmet. They were very popular with 'teeny boppers'.

    I used to adore these guys! I remember their album had covers of Band of Gold and Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White. I remember seeing Michael Mullins (lead singer) as a backing singer on some BBC programme years later and being so disappointed in my teenage self....
