Does anyone else remember a toy called Musical Tower? I'm beginning to think that I was the only child to have one - or that it was a figment of my imagination! There were two, well three, ways to play with it. The toy consisted of see-through plastic bases (about 15, as I recall) onto which you placed metal xylophone bars. You were provided with two sticks to play 'a tune'. The game also came with a red castle top and base, this meant that you could stack the plastic bases with their xylophone keys onto the bottom one, and put the turret onto the top. Included were a few marbles that you were supposed to drop, one by one, down the hole in the top piece - the idea being that as they fell to the tray at the bottom, they hit the xylophone keys and played a tune. Obviously the third way to play it was to set the tower up with the keys in any old order, get your entire marble collection - and tip them down the tower as fast as possible! My parents really regretted buying me this toy, and I have been searching for another one since I left home. My own children would not have free access to it, if I did come across one!
