My Little Pony

My Little Pony started out in the early 1980s and was every little girl's dream. Each My Little Pony came with a soft brushable mane and tail and had a symbol on each side of its rump.

The first set of six "collector ponies" were in a standing stance each with a different colour, markings and names. As time went on the pony family became more and more remarkable.

There were sitting ponies, pegasi, unicorns and babies. Accessories and playsets were added. Now you could dress up your pony, look after the babies in the Lullaby Nursey and bathe your ponies in the Waterfall.

It was all hugely popular and here in the UK we had mail in offers, an Activity Club, comics and not to mention My Little Pony: The Movie and My Little Pony cartoons.

Sadly after many successful years and their 10th anniversary the little ponies saw their last release in 1992. However this was not to be the end and in 1997 Hasbro decided to attempt to revive the My Little Pony line. Unfortunately, these more petite second generation Ponies just didn't fill the same space. After only two years of production in the U.S, My Little Pony was once again discontinued.

Ponies are back! Re-released last year (2003) My Little Pony was a huge success worldwide.

Through all the changing times from the eighties until now these brightly coloured little ponies have won a place in the hearts of many. With their new release many more children can experience the wonder and magic of My Little Pony.

They had MLP cupcake mix which made tasty My Little Pony cupcakes. I also had a customized MLP lunchbox! I don't think anyone would realize it would develop such a HUGE cult following.

I became obsessed with MLP when I was 11 and I didn't care who knew it either at secondary school! Until my sister bought me Bow Tie, I had to make do with the cheapo versions and I was not impressed at all. My next MLP was a plush 'Posy' and then a blue one with a multicoloured mane/tail. As my mum couldn't afford much, I was so jealous of others who had more ponies than I did!

My first MLP was Cotton Candy, me and my sister got one each before going on Brownie Camp. I also had Bubbles (sitting pony), Windy the unicorn, Peachy with the grooming parlour and butterscotch who came with the gymkanna set. My neighbour had the show stable and got the baby ponies complete with play-pens, bottles. Great memories playing with our ponies in the garden during the summer.

I loved My Little Pony's but only ever had two of them for some reason. One was pink and had blue hair and the other was white with rainbow hair. The white one with rainbow hair was my favourite. I used them as bath toys, so they eventually got moldy and I had to throw them out, but I have since bought the white one off ebay. I learnt to plait hair, by platting their tails!

fMy first MLP was Fizzy. I took her everywhere and she became my best friend. The next pony was Firefly and she quickly became my second favorite. I loved the baby ponies as well, but Fizzy and Firefly were always my two favorite adult ponies by far.

Bluebell and Seashell. Mum gave all my old toys away when I left home, and I'm trying at the old age of 32 to get them all back!

I loved my little ponies as a kid as well, but I only remember owning about 3-4 ponies (1 of them looked like a seahorse, if I'm not wrong), but I rented tapes of the cartoon, had a book of it and drew them obsessively. I was delighted to see them making a comeback in the toy stores, and I will buy 1 or 2 just for nostalgia's sake. :)

I had a all of the My Little Pony stuff. One of my most favorite things was the "Paradise Estates" it was so cool with its rooms and that swimming pool it took up sooo much room in my room aand eventually went to storage i think its still there even ohhh and the Castle and the Nursey I had it all. My Older brother to make me mad would take out there tails and thake off their heads and mix them all up then put them back together like pink head on white body with a purple tail....I would get sooooo mad at him. I think its kinda funny now.

I got one of those ponies with the rainbow mane and tail for Christmas once. I loved the pony, but spent the entire day in a huge strop because my mam had thrown out the little sticker that came with it with all the wrapping paper and we couldn't find it. It ruined the day for the whole family. What a little brat, and all over a MLP!
