This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Poor Nena, destined to be remembered (in the UK at least) as much for daring to have underarm hair as for the insanely catchy smash "99 Red Balloons", which most people my age can still sing in German as well. Still big in Germany, apparently.

    Like most songs translated, the original "Neunty-Neun (Sich) Luft Ballons" Came across so much more fluid than the English version, which with my very basic understanding of German, tells me both songs are different in many ways. Another Case-In-Point: Shakira and her translated songs. In Spanish or English, the originals are better. You didn't see Falco making an English version of "Rock Me Amadeus".
