Tomy's Omnibot was number two in their line of big fat robots. Omnibot was motorized and rechargeable-battery powered. It went forward and back, turned round and ran on the carpet too.

Omnibot could play tapes and it had great robot sound effects and blinking big light up eyes.

You could use Omnibot's remote control to talk through the robot (mic/speaker) and it made your voice sound robotic!

    I still have my Omnibot 2000 I got when I was 13. It's painted black with purple eyes and has a Barbie jeep battery in what use to be a pull out storage tray on the back. I also have his handheld motion sensors that plug in the back that also work as obstacle avoidance. 20 years later, OB2000 is still fun! If you have ever watched "Night Court", Judge Harry Stone had one in his chambers.

    There was also the ability to program Omibot by inserting a blank cassette into his chest and pressing record. Then everything you did with Omnibot (movement and sound) was recorded onto the cassette to play again and again! This function was really groovy. The Omnibot 2000 was very similar to Omnibot except that it had one motorised arm and a 'dummy' arm to match, it also had a revolving drinks tray so that it could pick up drinks and serve them to you.
