Originally a dancer, Patrick Swayze started his career dancing in Disney on Parade. In 1979 Patrick first appeared on the big screen in the movie Skatetown but it wasn't until 1987 that he became a big name playing Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing (for which he received a Golden Globe nomination).

Patrick Swayze received a second Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the film Ghost in 1990. Since then Patrick has gone on to appear in many films including Point Break and City of Joy.

    Great actor, fantastic dancer and, it seemed, all round nice guy. A very sad loss to Showbiz when he passed on.
