Punch Chocolate Bar

Punch chocolate bars were my favourite! They were like a smaller and more chewy Mars bar... or a bigger and more chewy Curly Wurly. Either way, they were brilliant and there's nothing on the market like them today. I remember these, they were the same shape as a fudge bar but tasted much better, like a chewy toffee fudge, a weekend treat when we were little, bring them back please!!

We lived abroad, Kenya, and I loved Punch bars because they were an ideal "half way house" smaller than Mars bars and less sickly sweet. I remember the top of the bar was dimpled and my four year old fingers pretended they were a chocolate handle. For me they were best as my other favourite the Flake was shaken into fragments by the time they arrived. A Flake and a fizzy drink in a bottle we had dropped a small marble chip which made them dramatically fizzy. Golden memories.

I remember the Punch from the early - mid sixties. I used to buy it from the local off licence which made it seem more exciting than other chocolate bars. It was a chocolate covered chewy, caramel, fudge bar.

The Punch chocolate bar was a cross between milky way and a mars bar. Delicious!
