Quirks Chocolate

Does anyone else remember Quirks chocolate? They were similar to Smarties but in a little brown box and instead of being colourful and shiny like Smarties, they were in pale pastel colours and had a matt finish to the sugar shell, and they had chocolate inside. I remember buying Quirks from a vending machine within a building in Portsmouth Naval Base in the mid-1980s - only time I ever saw them.  I think they cost 20p pack then.  There was a second machine alongside which sold 5-fingered Kit Kats - also 20p each, and I believe sold only in vending machines, as the more usual 4-fingered version cost 17.5p in the shops at that time.  Sweet memories and good value!

:-) no idea where these came from but I remember these.. I loved them! Nobody I know knows what I'm talking about though! Pastel green and pink, with white ones too. Smartie size but with much softer shells. In a brown box with pictures of the quirks on it, lid flipped up so you could tip a few into it at a time! Yummy!

Exactly the same experience. I thought I'd dreamt it as no one else has heard of them. They were good I remember from the Majestic cinema in Macclesfield (R.I.P). Think it's a northern thing as people give me strange looks when I mention here in Somerset. So glad I share this memory!
