Ronco Adverts

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Ronco ads were for products made by Ronco such as record cleaners, fluff removers and saws that cut through bricks etc. They used to be on mainly around Christmas time and be voiced over by someone who sounded like a radio DJ. The ironic thing is that as awful as they were, I miss them!

I have a christmas album by Ronco which is titled A Christmas Present. Full of orchestral christmas delights and it opens out to show a pop up santas workshop scene. This has been in my family since I was a kid in the 70's and I remember playing with the pop up whilst listening to the songs. I now play it every christmas and it takes me right back

Ronco's Mr Micrpohone was an AM/FM radio which came with a microphone that plugged into the back which made it possible to speak on the radio, surely the most tacky and pointless thing made by Ronco.

Ronco also produced pop compilation albums in the style of K-Tel in the early 70s. Be the first in your street to own Smash Hits 6 featuring Lieutenant Pigeon and Clive Dunn!
