She-Ra Action Figures

I loved the She-Ra cartoons and got the She-Ra doll and the Cat-Ra doll (her nemesis) for my birthday one year. I couldn't decide which one I most wanted to be. She-Ra had beautiful blonde hair with reddy bits in and a gorgeous gold/pink costume - in fact she reminded me a lot of Princess Aura in the Flash Gordon movie, but Cat-Ra was beautiful too in a Cleopatra kind of way, with long black hair and green eyes. Even now I'm not sure if I want to be a blonde or brunette!

She-Ra action figures were classic, my only critisism of them is that they were quite masculine in build - but then they were Princesses of power of course! Also I had the beautiful pink horse that belonged to She-Ra. I wish I still had them now!

The rest of team She-Ra were cool: Kowl was like a Magic Eight Ball in that you could ask yes or no questions, lift his belly and see what colour appeared. Green = Yes, Yellow = Maybe, and Red = No. Castaspella came with a fiery holographic disk. When placed on her back, you could spin it so it looked like she was casting spells. Mermista came with a shell that you could fill with water. When placed in her back, you could squeeze the shell which shot water out of Mermista’s necklace. Double Trouble had two faces. By turning a disk on her back you could switch between her good face (rebel) and her evil face (Horde accomplice).

I played with She-Ra, Swift Wind, Castaspella, Frosta, Glimmer and Double-Trouble in a strange way: Crystal Castle was really only a mansion on some prime real estate (clouds in the sky!), and She-Ra and all her friends were simply miniature Barbies! There were no action / heroine storylines or narratives; no one to rescue; no evil Horde to defeat. I just didn't do She-Ra's viking-like outfit any justice, to be honest! And poor Swift Wind was hardly ever in the plot - not when She-Ra spent all her days inside Crystal Castle, hanging around her treasure chest or sleeping in her princess-like canopied bed. I remember how much I loved the purple faux "fur" rug that came with the castle, and the little pink pillow that came with the bed. Besides She-Ra herself, these items were my favourite things about this playset!

I was scarily obsessed with she-ra's as a child. I had a huge cave like house for them all, the horse, and a flyng carriage. I also had about 30 she-ra dolls, several in duplicate. My favorites were Catra, a blue one with butterfly wings, one like a bee and one that had a sea horse on her outfit. Some I wasn't as keen on, so I cut their hair and wouldn't let he man go out with them.

I had all the She-ra action figures. I know they were brother and sister, but He-man was always having a love affair with She-ra. I remember having one of the baddies and she was dressed in green with a helmet on with a blonde pony tail coming out the top. you could change her face round to be evil or good...I can't remember her name! Also the little owl guy with the belly that showed different visions. Girl power!

I had Frosta, Glimmer, Catra, Starburst She-ra , Spirit/Swift Wind, Peek-a-blue and this cat thing with a perm called Clawdeen. Good dolls, but I was very disappointed they had wedge heels on their boots and not stillettos!

I only remember the cartoon and the books. I always wonder why the figures never resemble the characters in the cartoon or books.

I had Glitter, which was one of She-Ra's friends. She had purple hair, and her accessories would glow in the dark.

I remember having the she-ra castle. This quite large plastic castle with a secret hiding place which was just a door that turned round. Unfortunately, She-Ra's castle became Barbies Castle.
