The Snugglebumms were a collection of cute little hairy character toys made by Playskool in the 80s. The main characters were the mother and father "Papa Gentley and Momma Brightly" who had hearts which, when squeezed, would make their bodies light up!

There were lots of other Snugglebumms with names like Fondly, Gladly, Happily, Spritely and Shyly.

    I was besotted with these little beauties and had my first one aged 7. Now 30, I still have 14 of them with accessories.They are different colours with hair all down the back. The mum is pink and lights up when you squeeze her; Dad is turquoise and lights up, too. I have princess snuggleina who is purple with long hair, but doesn't do anything.Then the set of children includes: spritely (blue); gladly (green); shyly (pink with yellow hair); warmly (yellow); cutely (orange); fondly (purple) and happily (white with purple hair).Then the pets including: shuffle, bumble, flutter and lucky. As far I know, the only one I dont have is the dinosaur Tuggles.

    One Christmas my sister and I had snugglebumms, I had the mum (I was the eldest!) and my sister had one of the kids who was white with purple hair. Our younger brother was so obsessed with the noise that my sister's one made that he always wanted to play with it, so in the end my parents had to get him one too.

    I remember having the yellow one , i think it was called warmly. My friend had the purple one. Anyone remember Wiggly Gigglys???

    I have still got 4 snugglebumms, I have the mum and the dad and I have spritely, not sure what the other one is called, spritely came with an acorn hat and the other one had a flower for her hair, and they all came with a brush.mum and dad glowed but did not make a noise when shaken like the others, I remember lots of people staring at by bag when we bought them because of the noise coming from it

    i have been searching for ages to remember the name of these. i had a purple one with long hair and she had a little skirt. wish i still had her.

    hi i have three snugglebumms dont remember there names though.One is orange and one is pink with purple hair but the other is bigger doesnt squeak and came with skirt on and a crown.I think she is a princess she has different hair, very long.

    I was watching an old home video and the minute I saw a snugglebumm in the background I have been on a hunt to find out what they were called and where to find them. I loved the Snugglebumms!

    hi, I loved snugglebums....until this website....I didn't even know what they were called until I saw the picture again!!!!!!! Apparently i still own the one called papa gently!!!!! thanks for posting these online!!!

    A toy that I wanted for Christmas one year but never got. I actually remember one day after gymnastics, one of the carpool mothers was asking all of us what we wanted for Christmas, and when she asked me, I gave her this vague answer because I was afraid that the other girls would laugh when they heard "bumm".

    there were also Snugglepets brought out later. With a Butterfly called Flutter, a bumble bee called Butty, a dinosaur, a catapillar, and others.. but unlike the smaller snugglebumms they didn't giggle :(
