Space Dust

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Space Dust was the fizzing, popping candy that sent your tongue mad. You had to press it up onto the top of your mouth to get the full effect and it made your head feel like there was firework display going on inside.

It was free with an issue of the Beano in (I'm guessing) 1978. Radio active stuff!

To get that Space Dust feeling again try a 'Crunchie - Ice cream lolly' it has space dust (or similar) embedded in the chocolate coating of the ice cream - as you eat it you can feel it crackling away in your mouth.

OMG, I loved Space Dust, it was brilliant stuff, I always would buy a pack of it and eat it and it was great the way it would pop and if you bit it, it would pop even more in your mouth, it helped if your mouth was very moist before you poured the stuff in.

Rumours were rife about it's explosive qualities but I can say that there is no truth in the rumour that your Dog would explode if you fed it a whole packet. I know this because we tried it on my mate's dog. Were we disappointed!

REMEMBER THE PACKET? IT WAS BLACK WITH A COLOURED SMILEY MOON ON THE FRONT WITH A RING OF DUST GOING ROUND HIM (SATURN STYLE). I USED TO GET MINE FROM TESCO IN HANLEY.

A great after school snack, and there are defiitely no known cases of people dying after eating two packets and then drinking a whole bottle of lemonade.

Loved space dust but it was quite pricey.
