Splicer Bars

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Splicer Bars came out in the mid 1980s and were fruit-flavoured and multi-coloured twisted candy bars which were really chewy. The advert featured a policeman and various other people biting into a splicer bar and it turned them all multi-coloured! Ace! They tasted soft but chewy...

The Splicer was great. The challenge was to separate each flavour and eat it separately. Not many people remember it but they were big in N.Ireland about 1980-1

these were made at the foxys glacier mint factory in Leicester. I was one of the four people that were employed to make the very first bars. very technical apparently. it never really took off in the midlands and was dropped quite quickly. shame really. my wife was pregnant at the time and got addicted to them, lol.

I loved these, must have ate at least 2-3 bars a week. I think I use to eat them one colour at a time and I think you could pull them apart but not sure long time ago.

Everyone thinks I'm making it up. I remember them in the mid to late 70's. The tv advert was kids in white jump suits on white go carts on white ramps, everything would become multi-coloured leaving rainbows in their tracks.

At last - other Splicer fans. No-one else I know remembers them which, I guess, explains why they stopped making them.
