The British actress Stacy Dorning found fame and following in The Adventues of Black Beauty and then Keep It In The Family, playing the daughter of a cartoonist. Then she disappeared off the face of the earth. I used to hold a bit of a teenage torch for her, if you know what I mean. I reckon she probably married well and gave up acting. She's the daughter of actor Robert Dorning, who's been in tons of classics, like Steptoe and Son and Rising Damp, plus Corrie - well, who hasn't been in Corrie at some point or another! Anyone else remember Stacy? She'd be in her mid 40's by now. I do remember Stacy Dorning very well from the Black Beauty Series. In 1974 she recorded a phonograph record with the late Duncan Browne on guitar. The LP is rather scarce and I had it converted to digital. Her singing voice was quite good. A couple of years ago I researched Stacy and heard she retired to the outback of Australia with a child but it was not confirmed.

    I saw her today with a gentleman having lunch in Stoke D Abernon .. Still looks very pretty.

    I loved Stacy in 'Keep It In The Family'. Have fond memories of her in 'Black Beauty'. And she turned into a real beauty herself! She was in an episode of 'Miss Marple' too, the original Joan Hickson BBC series, years ago. The last time I saw her was in 'The Further Adventures Of Black Beauty', which was filmed in New Zealand. I read an interview with her, saying she would love to live in New Zealand, was happy being single, didn't want children, but don't know what happened since as I've heard nothing about her. Such a pity. I think she should have continued in theatre, she was such a terrific actress.

      I saw Stacy today in Woking, Surrey. I helped her and her sons with a predicament they were having. She looks very good for a lady in her mid to late 50s.

        Oh, wow, that's intriguing, sjuck7! Did you ask her if she was still acting these days? I heard she was in New Zealand with her daughter. So many rumours, you don't know what to believe. I wish she'd put us all straight! Would love to know what she's up to now, apart from having two sons! As long as she's well and happy, that's the main thing, and it sounds like she still looks good.

          I thought like you she had moved to either Australia or New Zealand and only a daughter. I am surprised she has turned back up England, if anyone bumps into her again please post how she is and what she's doing these days please....

            Like you, fintan05, I'd love to know the whereabouts of Stacy and what she's up to now. The last I read was when she was filming The New Adventures of Black Beauty in New Zealand, said she was happy single with no kids and loved the country so much she wanted to live there. Then, I heard she had a daughter, maybe adopted (?) and was in Australia/New Zealand. Whatever, I wish she would let us know what's she's doing these days.
