Star Maidens was a TV series from 1976 about an alien race who spoke english with strange accents. There was a dominant race of females who had enslaved their men and travelled the stars in some very dodgy outfits and with even dodgier special effects.

Think of it - dominant females in charge of spaceships and actually getting to their destination unscathed and on time. The very idea!

    Yes, it was an Anglo-German collaboration, there used to be a big website for fans of the series. Not ALL of the special effects were dire- only ever remember watching one episode, mind you.

    I seem to remember this was a foreign-made (European) series? Ropey special effects stick in my mind, as do some very attractive ladies in tight fitting cozzies... :)

    a very dodgy homespun TV series in the seventies from I believe Grampian television. a story where women become the dominant race. yes i believe it must be from another planet rubbish special effects council house- blonde hairdos This program really had them all.
