Survivors

Running from 1975 to 1977, Survivors spanned three series and told the story of some of the remaining few people in the aftermath of a new and deadly disease. One of the best BBC series produced, it was written by Terry Nation who also created the Daleks! Riveting viewing even now - I have managed to get my hands on series one and watched all 13 hours in one sitting! Being only five when this started, I don't recall the first showing, but have some vague memories of the last series - certainly things I have read on other web pages have triggered some recollections.

Was there an episode about rabies? I remember a programme in the 70's with a rabies storyline, but I'm not sure what it was.

I loved this series and remember one of the early main characters constantly searching for her son, Peter. i loved the idea of them just taking petrol from abandoned pumps and helping themselves to food from empty shops. people were always trying to set up repressive alternative societies.

A gripping series of a small no of people surviving the aftermath of a plague, with well-acted characters and a great storyline.Even though I was young,it was always essential viewing at the time.
