    I remember an episode where he was supposed to be driving a car but got into the back seat and spent an age trying to find the steering wheel,,,,,

    I loved this show, shown on British TV in 1974. I used to watch it at my friend's house and I think it was shown on Fridays, probably on ITV. It was a comedy about a detective, starring David Jason, and I remember it being the funniest thing I had ever seen at the time. It has an entry on the Internet Movie Databse.
