Treets

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

I fondly remember Treets. Caramelized Peanutty loveliness in a yellow bag. Trying not to crack your teeth on the oft found clumps of peanuts that had stuck together was a real test of mettle. I was sad to see them disappear from our corner shop.

Similar to Marathon changing to Snickers Minstrels were originally Chocolate Treets came in a similar brown bag while the toffee one were blue and peanut yellow I think that's where the confusion over the "melt in your mouth not in your hand " slogan and it was used for both products

I loved Treets, I still remember the yellow bag and brown writing! Is this a figment of my imagination, or did Treets make a shortlived comeback in the 90's as I'm sure I bought a packet, but they didn't taste the same. The peanut from the Revels bag is very similiar to Treet's peanut.

anyone remember a very small chocolate covered fondant - wrapped in coloured foil with an outer cover of clear crispy paper rolled at each end like a christmas cracker... These were about 3" long and i think the same width as a pencil. They were around in 1976 ish.. around the same time as strawberry fondant ladybirds and milka chews...mmmmm

reminds me of a joke at the time ; what do you do if you get a peanut stuck in your ear? Pour in some chocolate and it comes out a treet. nobody would understand it these days, but it always made me smile! gem jan 2009

They might have had a coating like minstrels, but that was the mintrels slogan, and I don't think it was ever used for treets.
