Waddington's Dentist Game

I had this dentist game where all the teeth had little electromagnetic contacts on them. You had a pair of pretend pliers and had to pull the teeth out without making the patient scream. The patients were cardboard cut out faces of different people which you placed over the huge open plastic chasm of a mouth and clipped into place with small plastic tabs. Much better than Operation as the scream was blood-curdling!

Do You Remember Waddington's Dentist Game?

Never had it myself, but I recall it came in for a huge amount of condemnation by parents and health care professionals, who said that it was making children terrified of going to the dentist unnecessarily. Maybe that's the reason it was eventually withdrawn from the market. I remember gathering from somewhere that the names of the 'patients' were all puns, like Mrs. Gladys Over and Wille Owl.
