White Horses was a serial in the early seventies if I remember right, which followed the adventures of a family in the country that kept horses. I think it was French and dubbed over in English. I think Saturday mornings was the usual time they aired it. Repeated many times in the summer if my memory serves me right. Lovely theme tune to it as well.

    Like so many other posters here, I can remember the theme tune & opening credits quite vividly. But don't ask me to remember a storyline or even a main character because I really can't! But I do recall this show was quite often shown during those long summer holidays, usually of a Saturday morning. And if it wasn't White Horses being broadcast it would be either Robinson Crusoe, or Belle & Sebastian. All of them foreign imports with some dodgy English dubbing, but they had great appeal on a young child's mind

    Loved the theme too , Alexa play White Horses by Jackie is often heard in our house. But the singing ringing tree scared the pants off me . PAul h

    i loved this programme. can also still sing the theme tune! was going through a pony club/show jumping phase at the time. all my teachers complained about my total obsession with horses. one even wrote on my report "i am looking forward to the day when jan gets a boyfreind and then her horse obsession may stop" cheeky sod lol

    I loved this as well as all things horsey in this era.... some beautiful music, but can't rememberthe stories as clearly as those from black beauty !

    I loved the series - an absolute "mustn't miss" on my weekly schedule as a child. I too was horse-mad and still am !! Have my own horses now, not "white" or Lippizana's but love them lots. Still play the White Horses theme tune loud in the car and have it as a ring tone from when all my yard friends phone!!!

    I love the theme tune too and it is my ring tone on my phone, so many happy memories from my childhood when I hear it play.

    I remember white horses and the great games I played in my grandparents garden with my cousins - only remember my cousin Ian aged about five being Uncle Dmitri! Involved lots of galloping about and jumping over flower beds. Happy happy memories. Have downloaded the theme tune on itunes.

    I remember white horses and I went to a site where the person says he is working on putting it on DVD and should be released this year, its a good site to see.
