The Yawnies were puppets that you would use your two fingers in the back of their head to open their mouth and make them yawn. There were several different animals, my favorite was the Pink Rabbit. There was also a Purple Mouse, Orange and Red Cat, and a Blue Dog... I think that is all the types of critters.

My girlfriend has the Red and Yellow Cat (Slumber The Cat) and she loves it so much, it was a present from her uncle when she was a kid, bad news is her brother liked to rip bits off and try and destroy it to upset her when she was a kid so 'Yawnie' is in a very bad, if any one reads this and is willing to sell a Red and Yellow/Orange Slumber The Cat then it would make my girlfriend very happy! I've been searching for one for ages so if anyone can point me in the right direction to get one that would also be appreciated!!!! Thanks, Matt (downm008@medway.org.uk)

I got a yawnie from my grandpa for christmas 1 yr it was the lion Nappy Lion I believe his name was I had him for years but moved a few times and think that someone scooped it on me during the move I miss it it was one of the last present I got from my grandpa before he passed away But I still remember the yawnie and my grandpa well

I still have my yawnie, he is the purple mouse called Cudderly, and he is very precious to me! Amazing that so many other people still treasure their yawnies. my granny bought it for me and always thinks its the ugliest toy ever but i love him dearly! Sadly his lovely red nose is very threadbare, any ideas how to repair this??

It is very odd that people share the same favourite as me, the yellow and red cat! I am relieved to know that someone else remembers the fact that he was called slumber because my family thought I had made it up! I also had the purple one, I always thought he was a hyena!! My old cat is very old and very loved (he is also the 18" rather rare version) I would dearly love to get another so that he may retire, so if anyone ever reads this who has one and wouldn't mind selling it, please contact me at carla_ranson@hotmail.com!!!

I have my Yawnie by my bed. I have a big pink bunny with hearts and my favorite red and yellow stripe cat I called ketchup and mustard, I loved him so much I bought the min of him and called him ketchup and mustard junior. They're the best toys ever! :)

I've still got my Yawnie (the Red and Yellow cat called Yawnie Slumber Cat - very original!). He's 17 years old and still a well loved member of the family. And he still has the ability to make members of the family yawn! It's good to see other people remember them. Rock on!!!

I've still got my Yawnie. He's the blue & white dog and his name is "Y" !! I've got a couple of the mini yawnies too but the big Y is my fav!!

i still have my yawnie, i could never give him up. i think mine's supposed to be a lion, he's orangy-yellow with green hair. he's got a rat tail too..like the hair style. how 80s.
