Ford Classic Yeah, a shame really, it was (for the time) a stylish looking car
Babycham They didn't stop at Babycham. They also tried 'Pony' ( a sweet sherry-type drink) and 'Cherry B' ( a cherry brandy-type drink) I use the '-type drink' advisedly! Were we really that unsophisticated in the '60's and '70's? I guess so, although it didn't seem so at the time!
Vauxhall Viva Eventually evolved into the Vauxhall Magnum (a Viva with a Victor 2300 cc engine) and the outrageous Droop-Snoot Firenza! (Anybody else remember the late great Gerry Marshall and 'Baby Bertha'? Those were the days!) Whatever happened to Vauxhall's habit of putting the engine from the next model up the range into the one below e.g. Vauxhall Ventora - Victor with a Cresta 3 litre shoe-horned in?
Old Lob Thanks, Jeanine. I was beginning to think I was all alone in the world. Even my elder brother, who was an antiquarian bookmonger, didn't remember them (he went to a different primary school).
Observer's Books I remember them well! Every year, when I was a little bitty boy (!), my parents would give me an Observers' Book of Automobiles among my presents (I was a petrolhead even in those days!). It introduced me to all sorts of manufacturers I would never otherwise have known about. The '-Aircraft' was another favourite.
