You had to be slim to look good. I was very tall. I loved them. They were great with your green flash plimsolls. I was no hippie. They were a great alternative to Levi and Lee Rider jeans (then about £4 a pair) as you could afford more pairs. Lees were more expensive than Levi's in our area and considered a little more cool. I remember as a shallow teen being shocked to find that in parts of the country Wranglers were considered to be THE jeans. We thought they were for dorks ( or whatever we called them in those days);-)
