This was a British television series aired between 1972 & 1974 and featured Robert Wagner as Flight LT Phil Carrington
'Colditz' storyline was based around the Prisoners of War in the Colditz Castle, which was a "special" escape-proof camp, designed by the Germans to hold high-risk and politically important prisoners during World War II. It recorded their many escape attempts. This drama was very grim and depressing and many of the series plots were based on real events.
The creator & producer of Colditz went on to devise another successful BBC series dealing with the Second World War — Secret Army. Technical consultant for the series was Major Pat Reid, a real British Escape Officer at Colditz.
