Fairy Tail Birds

Fairy Tail Birds were cute, big-eyed birds made by Hasbro. They were similiar in style to My Little Pony.

Fairy Tail Birds were available in different colours and had different designs on their chests. They had long hair on their heads and tails and they each came with their own perch and brush. The hair was a bright fluorescent colour and it glowed in the dark.

I remember finding my first Fairy Tail Bird in my stocking at Christmas!

The "Original" group of Fairy Tails were, by far, the greatest in number. Unlike subsequent series, the first group of Fairy Tails had 12 members instead of 6. Not withstanding their 1987 date stamp, they were first introduced at the end of 1986 in both Europe and North America . They are identified by their painted emblems along with the usual flowing, multicolored tails and Head plumes.

I had a couple of these two, a yellow one and a russet coloured one. I remember floating around with them clipped to my fingers, oh the joy or our childhood toys. So simple and we loved them.

I had a couple of these. I remember them being called Fan Tail Birds. But it was while looking about on the Net that I found out that Fan Tails were a separate range of Fairy Tail Birds. Fan Tails had the little platic fan pieces on their tails. I still remember my TuTu Bird (the ordinary Fairy Tail).

I had wanted a budgie as achild, but my dad said no dice. He got me a Fairy Tail bird instead. I LOVED her. She's the white one with ballet slippers as her symbol. I still have her. The funny thing is, when I was about 17, and I'd already had her for YEARS, I had an a black iron canopy bed, and I clipped her to one of the railings for decoration. One night, after turning out the lights, I saw summat glowing. I looked closer, and realised it was her HAIR. I had her that long and never knew she could glow, LOL
