I had a BSA Santa Fe! I got mine for my 11th birthday; there was official advice at the time that children should not cycle on roads until they were 11. The advice faded away later; I was a bit miffed when my younger sister got her bike at age 10. It was a great bike, I went everywhere on it. I even used it for two school cycling holidays, one to the south of France, and one to the Costa Brava. Over the Pyrennees on a Sturmey Archer 3-speed! It set me off on a lifetime of cycling. I have been to the National Cycle Museum, and was absolutely delighted to see the Santa Fe there. Shame about the mudguards; although I recall them being a bit 'tinny'.
