Swoon! In the late '50s they were so exotic and cool mostly because they were American. I must have been 8 years old when I first heard their wonderful harmonies but have remained a fan ever since. Apparently I wasn't the only one since the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Simon and Garfunkle and the Hollies, amongst so many others, have cited them as a major influence on their work.In the 1990s I was lucky enough to see them play in their home town in Kentucky.Sadly Phil died in 2014 just short of his 75th birthday.
